Sherina joins MIT as an architect and a data design specialist. With more than 5 years of experience in design and construction administration, Sherina focused her architectural career on actualizing private and public partnerships.
As a project architect at Perkins Eastman, She led multiple projects in the education, research, and mixed-use sectors. Her work ranges from local facilities in New York to large-scale commercial projects in the Middle East and China. Her roles included client relationship development, project cost estimation, design management, as well as overseeing construction.
With a special interest in data mining and data analytics, Sherina led a research team that studied analytical, workflow and design problems using advanced computational processes. Through this experience, she acquired technical knowledge in Python and R. She hopes to inform decision-making in acquisition, development, and design through vigorous data gathering and analytical processes.
Sherina holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. At MIT, she hopes to gain an in-depth understanding in real estate finance, acquisition, and development. She aspires to establish a property technology startup through the amalgamation of knowledge in real estate acquisition, development, design, and data science.
