Shagun Kalra is an accomplished architectural designer and urban planner with a robust portfolio spanning mixed use development, historic preservation, and large-scale architectural design. Currently serving as the Director of the Board for Architects/Designers/Planners for Social Responsibility, Shagun spearheads initiatives aligned with the UN’s sustainable development goals, advocating for inclusive urban planning and socially responsible architecture.

In her role as a Consultant with the American Institute of Architects, Massachusetts, Shagun collaborated with public officials to enhance historic preservation laws, driving legislative and regulatory changes that improve the sustainability and resilience of historic structures. Her expertise extends to her work as an Architectural Designer at Elkus Manfredi Architects, where she lead master planning for institutional, life sciences, and mixed-use projects, including high-profile sports facilities for NFL, NBA, and NHL teams.

Shagun’s academic background includes a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Architecture from Guru Nanak Dev University. Her commitment to innovation is further demonstrated by his certifications, including LEED AP Building Design + Construction, and her active participation in organizations like the IDEA committee and ACE mentoring.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shagun is passionate about mentorship, improv, and running, regularly participating in 5k and 10k events. Her work has been recognized with several awards, including commendations for her thesis at Boston Architectural College and contributions to the Smart City initiative in India.
