Ryan joins the MIT MSRED program with eight years of experience working in various development related roles. He started his career at Seritage Growth Properties, serving on a team focused on diversifying income from Sears Holdings through the redevelopment of former Sears and Kmart properties. In this capacity, Ryan managed key retrofit and ground-up retail and mixed-use projects. Ryan then joined ACRES Capital, and gained valuable experience overseeing the underwriting, entitlement, and development of 300 multifamily units, 900 student housing beds, and 400 hotel keys.
At MIT, Ryan plans to supplement his development experience with a deeper understanding of sustainability, real estate finance, and technological innovation to further appreciate the intricacies of sustainable development. Ryan is excited to collaborate with his peers, professors, and the entire MIT Center for Real Estate community, to learn what sustainable practices have led to successful project level outcomes for all stakeholders.
Ryan grew up in Doylestown, PA and attended Union College in Schenectady, NY where he earned a B.A. in Managerial Economics. Ryan currently resides in Jamaica Plain with his wife, Anna, and his yellow lab, Arnie.
