Luis Fernando is a passionate civil engineer who graduated from Universidad Metropolitana in his hometown of Caracas, Venezuela. Growing up in a country marked by harsh economic conditions, he learned early on the importance of resilience, adaptability, and innovation. These challenges fueled his determination to make a meaningful impact through his work.

After college, Luis began his career at Vepica, a leading engineering company, in the Alternative Energy section, driven by a desire to explore cutting-edge solutions that could contribute to a more sustainable future for his country. His curiosity and enthusiasm for learning soon led him to join his family’s real estate development company. Despite the challenging economic environment, he quickly advanced from project manager—where he successfully developed an office building in Caracas—to managing partner. In this role, he skillfully navigated the complex task of pivoting a major project from office to residential during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating both his strategic thinking and adaptability.

Luis’s relentless pursuit of knowledge has now taken him to MIT, where he is eager to expand his financial acumen and interpersonal skills. With a deep understanding of the difficulties the modern world faces, he is focused on building a global network and gaining insights into complex markets. Luis is committed to using these enhanced skills to drive innovation in real estate development and management, with the goal of creating projects that not only succeed in challenging environments but also contribute to the betterment of the communities they serve.
